soot around injectors

I installed my 275'S today an saw soot build up around the tips.



My truck has 40k on it. Is this normal?

The #5 had the most, # 1-3 had light coating about 50% of tip.

I got the truck 5,000 mile ago. I do use a additive about every 3rd tank.

When I took the stock injectors out of my last truck it had about 8000 miles and the carbon was there. I replaced them with 275's and used PowerService in the white bottle for the next 20,000+ miles. At 35xxx miles I traded the truck and took the 275's out in case I wanted them in the future. They had the carbon on them too, so in my case the fuel treatment didn't prevent the carbon. I still use the same treatment on my new truck, not sure what that says about me though...

It's normal on the class 8 engines. I don't see many 'B" injectors. (That's a good thing... . )
