All right guys after consulting with all the other 2 instigaters of this event.

:-laf We have decided on a date. It looks like we are going to hold the event on Oct 6&7 this year. This is the 1st weekend of the month.

So speak up and lets hear who else is going to be here this year. :D

I have very good intentions of being there. My current location is somewhere on a very smooth and wide paved road. I detect a bright glow in the distance. Baring any serious mishap, I will follow those intentions.

Smoke Over Peru (IN). It started in 2004 as a get together/ cookout/ BBQ/ potluck for TDR members at Case500D's farm. CGaithier (from somewhere in Ontario) had his KDP killed and gauges installed, and maybe some pump tuning, I forget. We had some 1st and 2nd Gen trucks that first year. The last 2 have been 1stGens only, not to exclude anyone, but more because the 1stGen forum seems to be more family-like and helpful in nature.

Greenleaf normally gives VE operations and modifications presentations. We also atempted to have a Getrag rebuild seminar, but it was kind of spur of the moment, and we had some technical difficulties, though stuff was learned by the uniniated. And, since I have an actual dial indiactor now, we can do timing, and find true TDC.

Count me (and my girlfriend) in.

Daniel

OOH OOH OOH! ME! ME! Oo. Oo.

Do I count twice if I answered on the other site too? :-laf The wife and I will be there, we were discussing it yesterday.

Daniel do you have the adapter? I'm gonna have one come heck or high water by then! ;)

I'll bring the TDC tool!

Barring any freaks of nature, I'll be there again. Hopefully harvest will not be in full swing yet by then. Maybe by then I'll have a spare getrag for D&A... ..... oh, I think we should have shift ring ball and spring races. Oo. I'll start practicing tomorrow. ;)

I may even bring another set of 3. 07's for James if he comes.

I need a KDP killed too, I've never seen this done, and should do it, but you know how it goes... ...

I have every intention of being there this year. I had planned to be there last year, but wife's hopitalization killed that. Looking for ward to Oct. Oo.

Meby the where is Peru, IN. I'll send out directions a couple of weeks before the meet. It will also have contact phone numbers in case anyone gets lost.

You will get to see your tool box agin. I have it stashed in one of the barns there. LOL

DCottrell I hope you can make it this year. We all understand about last year. The wife is first. I hope she is doing fine and can make the trip to.

I had a PM from Carl a while back. He is planing on making it this year. :D

I'll try to make it, you say its 1st Gen's only? I like that. What about the names of some motels close by so some of us could arrange lodging. Thanks, JC.

We mostly have 1st gens for the meet. We do let a second gen slip in every once in a while. But these are mostly friends.

The closest hotel is Best Western, 765-473-8800. This is the only one in Peru you would want to stay at. Trust me.

Then the next step is south to Kokomo,IN for a hotel. They have 3 or 4 good ones there. But it is 25 miles south.

does my truck qualify?:-laf if so I put SOP4 in my schedule. I would love to show up at least one event this year. so far I missed every event in the area including indy for various reasons.#@$%!

Don't it take a lot more fuel to be there twice ?? :-laf

Not too much... I'm only an hour away

Last year the 2nd gen parked behind the barn, but sneaked into the picture when nobody was looking. Since you've got a 1st gen engine, I guess you'll just have to leave the hood up :-laf

We normaly figure starting time as 8:00 Saturday morning. We have a place where people can camp if the have the equipment. So if you show on Friday evening like some do there will be a spot for you. If you want to bring a trailer we can find a place for it to. The people that come in on Friday normaly run out to the local truck stop and have breakfast Sat morning. Sat evening we have a chili cookout back in the camping area.

As far as food. I furnish the burgers and hotdogs. Then people bring in a dish. The people that have to drive a long distance bring something that doesn't require much attention. We will get into the food part when it gets closer to the time of the meet.

Come on down Meby. You have meet me and Jeremy (Case500D) he was the guy with me that night I came up to your place.

Is it October yet?:-laf.

Campers, don't forget to bring numerous blankets, wool especially, as it got a little chilli Friday night/Saturday morning.

Thanks guys, I will do my best to show up. I've wanting to faces to some of the names I see on here.

Don't forget the Saturday morning "shotgun start!" or was it a . 44 magnum? :-laf

The BW is a good place to stay, Greenleaf and his wife stay there, and we did too. I can't convince the wife to camp though.....
