Has anybody been using their "upgraded" pump? It's a stock rebuild, with a couple of things changed for reliability like, housing, computer, and diaphragm. I'm going to order one next week, I just wanted to see if anyone on here is running one, and what their opinion is.

Thanks Matt

Vp44

I have a remanufactered pump from Cummins Stuff down in Texas. My original pump worked ok I thought. Truck just didn't seem to have any top end power. When I changed the pump ,drove around for about an hour ended up breaking the shaft in my HX40. You may as well solder the comp wire before install. Thanks Steve B.

I can't remember for sure, all rebuilds get a new housing and I believe all the other parts you are talking about. I'm not at the shop so I can't look it up, and I have had just enough adult beverages that I can't be sure. (it is Sat nite)

Yes, I think all the rebuilt pumps get a new housing, I do believe there is a difference in what bushing that housing has in it. I am under the impression that most don't change the electronics unless there is a problem with the core unit, am I wrong  ??

I talked to Brady about a new pump, since I've done business with him in the past. His "deal" he offered me was pretty much the same price as everyone else, but when I asked what was reused and what was new, the reply was very vague. I would have no problem ordering another set of injectors from him, but I need a little more reassurance that I really am going to get a pump with all available revisions, not a two year old rebuilt that's been collecting dust on a shelf somewhere.

Above all, I really don't want to go through this again so I am trying to do my homework and look at all the options. So far, South East looks like the best in my eyes, but I'm no injection pump expert and would like to hear others opinions.

I'm not looking strictly price, I want the most up to date pump.

Please keep the suggestions coming in :D .

Thanks again

Matt

I just checked out the SE-Power web site. It looks like the typical rebuilt pump to me. However, where everone else charges a 400. 00 core, they charge a 750. 00 core. That seems a little steep to me!

Im running the Hot Rod VP 44 from Industrial Injection in Salt Lake City, this is the pump Cummins should be selling. I highly recommend them $400. core charge and a 1 year warrenty on pump mechanical parts, they dont care if you connect the pump wire or not.

I put a southeast VP44 on my truck about 15k miles ago and everything is fine. runs better than when the truck was new.
