I get a sound like an air tank pressure relief for about a second about 5-10 seconds after I start the truck in the morning. I am assuming that this is normal and could be the wastegate operating. That is just a SWAG. Is this normal or should I be worried It runs great.
Mine is doing it as well. I have noticed that it only does it after it sits for a couple days. I will try turning off the A/C to see if that is it. Scared me the first time. I opened the door and reached in to turn it on and it made that noise. I turned it off and looked under the hood and checked all the hoses and everything was tight. Started the truck back up and it did not make the noise again. So I dismissed it. Then about 4 days later it did it again.
I agree with the A/C thing... I don't usually run the A/C in the morning but every now and then I do and when I first turn it (A/C) on at start up it makes a big "blow off" type sound, really loud outside.
You guys were right . Turn off AC and start engine no sound. Turn on AC have sound. Such a simple thing to open the hood and listen but hard to get the wife out of the house to start it. Sometimes life is easier to use TDR.
