My 2001 has the AM/FM/cassette player. I would like to switch to a factory unit with CD that will slip in... plug and play.

IS ebay whre I should look, or elsewhere?

THanks

Check with Wiredawg - he replaced the factory stereo in his truck and sold me the driver side door 6x9 to replace my blown speaker.

Why not use this opportunity to get not only a CD player, but an aftermarket unit that can play MP3 and WMA format CD's, as well as having an auxiliary input jack. Crutchfield.com sells such units for under $150 that include the wiring harnesses, faceplates, and installation instructions.

By having an aux input jack you'll be able to plug in sound from many different devices like MP3 players, DVD movie players, cassette tape Walkmans, and satellite radio receivers. I like my Alpine very much.

Junkyard. I lost FM out of my 98. 5's AM/FM cassette and wanted to replace it with the same. Here in the barrio an aftermarket stereo is a break- in magnet. I tried calling stereo stores for a take out and none of them had one. I ended up at a wrecking yard, they hit me for $100. The truck was 4 years old at the time.
