I found several places that sell them but the listed temp range was 530-1600.

Is this the correct unit for our egt app? Will this unit read below 530? Where have you fellas' been buying?

Thanks

Thanks. I have that article somewhere but I reread it anyway. I don't know where to buy just the thermocouple. That's my question.

Type K thermocouples should read much lower than that, into the negative degrees F range. Omega.com is a classic re-lable shop for industrial instruments made mostly in China. I would also try McMasterCarr.com or Grainger.com. Your local Watlow heater vendor should be able to help also and would have higher quality. I've bought Type K's from just about everywhere- Type K is always Type K, if your's has a yellow and red wire it's Type K.

JPittinger that is the info I needed. I am not super familiar with instrumentation so I may have been reading the specs wrong. Thanks.

I deal with Rip at Source Automotive quite a bit. His business is primarily by the phone. If you give him a call, I would bet he would know "where" or sell you one himself.

FWIW these K-type thermocouples are pretty common. Specify whether you want a 1/8 or 1/4 NPT thread size.

A type K should be standard besides the mounting of it. The electric supply house I work for sales them or just try grainger or you can try traskinstrumentation.com guys are very knowledgeable and know alot of technical information.

Thermocouple

I sell the DiPricol version. I don't think I have them separately on the website and I don't want to post prices here but you can call me.
