That's right Peter is opening his doors up for the Indiana get together on December 8th at 9:00 am. We can pitch in and order up some hot wings, and Peter will show us how a clutch works. Anyone that has been contemplating a SBC clutch, nows the time to do it! There are two bays and plenty of tools for anyone to BOMB their trucks. There will be directions soon to follow. WHOSE INTERESTED??????????????

OK guys!!



1st, I have a shop that two trucks at a time can be pulled in for work but I do not have any hoists for clutch installs. WAIT!! maybe I can get my good friend the Matco dealer to bring one in for the day. Hmmm! I guess that would depend on who would like to install a clutch that day, it might be fun! I am offering my place to do some BOMBING if anyone is interested, we all know how cold it gets in December around hear. I got plenty of tools and a big air compressor, good music and there will be plenty of food!! Hell, I will get a hoist anyway, that way we can do whatever we want. SCooke I would love to come out to your neck of the woods!! Maybe we should change the time to 9:00 so it will give us a little more time, any thoughts? We can even flow it over to Sunday if needed. My place is open to all of you.

Clutch Install....

I just ordered a South Bend Clutch from Advance Diesel Tech. and it should be here anytime now. This would be the perfect oppurtunity to install it if there where a few willing individuals to help. Don't feel obligated, this would all depend if i can get off of work. Can peter resurface a fly wheel in the shop? Any takers. let me know

There is not a problem with flywheel resurfacing or many other things. I have state of the art parts cleaners that can make old rusty stuff look like new in two minutes. We have a lathe, saws... 3 different styles, paint booth, riveters and deriveters, 4 different kinds of grinders, pneumatic greasers, and 4 different kinds of presses. . pneumatic and hydraulic, welders... spay and wire as well as brazing, lots of stuff to use.



My place is yours for the day.



Eric also posted in a different post that I have a garage available to us for dyno runs and professional help for the big jobs if needed. This place is awesome, QUALITY through and through but we will need some early responce for their facilities.

It ain't but 800 miles so I might be in on this.



If it would be possible to get a clutch and install. I would certainly be there. I'll be willing to do all the grunt work, I just need a little hand holding .



I see on GLTDR about doing this on the 15th so we could pull on the dyno, either date works for me, but I vote for the 15th.



How does a new clutch need to be broken in? Could I pull my camper right after, or run on the dyno? Or should you take it easy for a while.



I look forward to seeing all you GLTDR folks again, and meeting the SBC guys.

There is not a problem with installing a clutch and putting it on the dyno there after. It is about a 15 mile drive to the dyno place and if you can't break it in by the time you get there, let me drive your truck there.

Check to make sure peter is insured!

Wes... . my advise is if you let Peter drive your truck make sure he has insurance. He drove my truck in Tulare Calif. , reved it to 100 + in 5 th gear 3000+ RPM , shifted to 6 th gear, God only knows how fast after that. It's a good think we had uncle "BUD" under our belts or I might have been scared!

So it will be possible to install clutch at this event?? Like I said I want to do as much as needed/wanted. I dont' want to mess up the gathering by installing at the same time or is this what you had in mind? If so mark my name down now.



Couldn't think of any better day; a new clutch, a new hp to brag about, and getting together with you guys again.

I can make it on the 8th but can't make it on the 15th (one of my wife's family xmas parties is that day). But I think you guys should shoot for the 15th with the dyno runs if it's possible - sounds like more fun to me!

The 15th seems to work for everyone better. But unfortunately, there isn't enough interest in the dyno. Peter needs more than two people to dyno their trucks.

I am planning on being there, but was wondering on what day it will be the 8th or 15th. If it is the 15th, I would like to dyno after I get my clutch installed. Unfortunatly, I heard a rumor today that my company fishing trip for Lake of the Woods was going to be on that weekend, so I will have to find out tommorow.
