I purchased the ceramac clutch from South Bend that was rated at 425 HP for the ETC 5 speeds. I had it installed on the 10th of April. It took over 2400 mile for the clutch to seat to the pressure plate and flywheel. Must have been the trip to BD Dyno Days. I really didn't baby it.
My last Dyno was 412 HP, after which I installed a HX-40 and a PE EZ. I was hoping to get the actual HP at BD Dyno Days but that's another story. Anyway I should be around 450+ HP. WOT with the HOT PE in #3 through all gears and no slippage. 1500 RPMs in 4th and 5th then WOT to 3500 RPMs and no slippage. At first I had quite alot of chatter in 2nd gear starts. Now the chatter is hardly noticeable. I am very pleased with this clutch.

Thank you South Bend for your continued R & D, and efforts in making it possible for us to put the HP to the ground!

BOB, thanks for the post. I am glad the clutch worked out good for you. You guys and gals aren't easy to please. LOL. Maybe I sould change the rating of the clutch? Not yet, I think I will wait until you redyno to be sure. By the way that clutch kit # is (MU 0087 CON-B) which is a 13" Sach's or Luk (we use both)cast iron cover which are primarily the same cover just made by 2 different companies. It comes with every thing, cover, disk, t/o brg. , kevlar pilot brg. and a line up tool. Peter

The next thing is a replacement for the master cylinder. The extra clutch petal pressure can cause the clutch slave cylinder to self destruct!

Bob;

Glad to read you got and installed that long overdue clutch. If memory serves, you first smoked it right before Dyno Days last fall?
BOMB on and we'll see you again at some future event!

If I am not mistaken the slave that came with the getrag trans. is heavier duty. It went with the Sach cover when it was OEM. After they switched to the Luk system (which has a lighter peddle effort) with the new prosses trans. they lightened up the hydrolics. I will try to find out if they are interchangable unless someone already knows. Our (MU 1938 CON FE) is reported to hold this kind of horse power with little peddle effort and it has a 3700lb plate load pressure plate. Peter
