A huge thank you goes to the folks at South Bend clutch. They are the TDR Calendar sponsor for August, 2010 and they are helping us with this next give-away. Be sure to check out their ad in the TDR Calendar. And take some time to check out their website at: South Bend Clutch - Dodge clutch kits and Kevlar Pilot Brgs. Dnya Max Clutch Kits for high performance. .

Now the good stuff. Doesn't any TDR member need a new double disk clutch from South Bend? Yea, we thought so.

The winner of this contest gets a South Bend double-disk clutch at no charge.

So what's the catch? No catch. Simply post why you think you should be selected as the winner. That's it.

1st Place Winner gets a South Bend double disk clutch.

2nd Place Winner gets a one-year complimentary renewal to the TDR.

Be sure to include the details about your truck in your post.

First place will be selected based on the quality or humor of the post. Second place will be selected by random drawing.

Ready, set, go!

I've used South Bend Clutches in my former trucks and have nothing but good things to say about them. Now as far as why I deserve to win the Giveaway... ..... nothing comes to mind other than I really want another one. :)

I should get it because for several reasons. I have been a member longer than most of the young uns' here these days. Also, years back when the Lakers were kickin' butt on the Indiana Pacers, I was razzing Peter about it publicly here, that ought to be worth something!!

I will the first to say that I love the TDR!! These contest always makes me feel good and gives me some hope of winning. However on a sad note :{ I never seem to win any contests. My wife does though, I might have her write a sad post here and see what happens. :-laf I think she could write a great sad story. The only time that she has seen me cry is when someone from California ran a stop sign in a jeep (no insurance) and I t-boned them at 35 mph. #@$%!

However on a lighter note my 04. 5 was just recently paid off (after 72 hard payments) with only 181,000 miles and the factory clutch still in use. I have never really been able to use most of the power the truck makes due to the clutch. I really would love to see my clutch hold at power level 6 or even level 5 on my juice. I thought now that my truck is paid off I might be able to save money for a new clutch but now my 93 CTD transmission is acting up and I think that my future clutch money will have to go into auto transmission. I know most of my post seems to be a sad story but nothing beats owning a CTD. :D:D

Thanks, Corey

My truck is an auto, but given a SB-DD, I'd do a manual swap. My grampa always said I could break an anvil, and I'd love the chance to prove that South Bend Clutches are tougher than anvils...

I've kept the engine pretty stock just waiting for the transmission to let go... and it hasn't. Big HP would be in the very near future after the swap.

My OE clutch started to slip at 28000 miles, it was replaced by Dodge. now at 65000 miles it is slipping again. This proves to me that the OE unit will not even hold stock power. Now I need a clutch, but not another OE unit. A South Bend unit would do the job.
good luck to all

Hey, it should be me because i can't think of anyone else i would rather see win it. No, actually i have been running a South Bend for a couple years now and would like to turn my truck up again and a double disk would really help out with that. Randy

Please,please!

I'm getting tired of driving around with an egg between my foot and the pedal. Going through a dozen/day. It's getting real old babying this '07 with the "baby rattler" noise upon shutdown with the dmf. Thanks!:)

One of my eventual goals is to replace the NV4500 in my '98 12V with a G56 or NV5600. Thus, I'm going to have to get a different clutch when the time comes. I have considered a Con OFE or Con FE from South Bend, but a new South Bend double disk would be even sweeter, and would hasten me on my way to achieving my goal. :)

A Southbend DD has been on my list for years. So far the stocker has been holding up okay but I feel that I'm running on borrowed time.

I guess I'm gonna try for second place since I can't think of anything funny at the moment :-laf

I just want to get rid of the DMF and not have to worry about it any more! I love the South Bend I put in the 01 and NEED a DD for the 09!!

I should get a clutch because my truck really needs a standard transmission installed. If I had a South Bend clutch in the garage it wouldn't have to wait long for me to find the rest of the pieces to put a good NV5600 into the truck!

If you can't have DD's in the cab, you should at least have them in the drivetrain!

In my continual build for longevity and durability I need a clutch that will hold moderate power for many miles. The SBDD clutch is that clutch!.

Man these contests just keep getting sweeter! Big thanks to the guys at South Bend and TDR! I just need it because mine's wore out. Every time it engages it sounds like a Prius looks... yeah that bad

Wow, that could be the winner right there!!Sam

Southbend has been making clutches for many years and is a well respected name in the industry. I would like to have one in my 2004 Ram. Although the clutch is still good in it, I know that eventually it will require a new one. Thanks for your consideration.

I know some people who have south bend clutches in their sled pull trucks I would like to get one for my truck. I pull a 5th wheel just about everywhere I go. I live in the Mountians and climb a lot of hills
