I need a clutch and will be picking one up this week. i have decided on SB but is not set in stone yet. After calling SB they recommended the Street Dual STD 3250-GK. My questions are:

Does anyone have this clutch and how do you like it?

Is there someone who would recommend something different and why?

Thank You in advance.

I've driven your exact truck w/a 3250 DD and Smarty set on sw #3. I thought it drove great with good street manners with the exception of low speed 3-2 downshifts which require rpm matching which I do anyway. If you forget and attempt to downshift it will act as if the 3-2 synchros are wearing out. Neutral noise idling is a consideration also. This truck had a Banks Monster exhaust w/cat delete so it was throaty at idle. The clutch could still be heard over that. Empty,engagement/disengagement was stock to me,but the owner reports that it's pretty grabby if he atttempts a 2nd gear lauch with his toyhauler. (He normally uses 1st,but tries to fudge sometimes) It does hold and should last forever.

I would take their advice for what it is and definitely go with a South Bend. They know their stuff and have sold me various clutches. They are also one of my sponsors for my sled pulling truck and I cannot thank them enough for all their help. Can't find better people in the clutch buiness IMHO. You will not be disappointed with the clutch they recommended. :)

I installed the Street DD and I am completely satisfied. I pull heavy, 24-26K. It takes a little bit different driving style, but its nothing once you figure it out. I can just hear the gear rollover noise, (clatter at idle) but once its off idle its gone. My exhaust and FASS pump and the clutch make it sound like a big boy toy. Once it is rolling down the road, the only thing I hear is the exhaust. Go with the recommendation of South Bend and you won't go wrong. When I was comtemplating a South Bend they were very friendly and offered that if I didn't like the DD they would replace it with something else.

Holds up to my power upgrades even when pulling 14k. It is noisey when the clutch is presses in, but there has to be a trade off somewhere.
