Archived South Bend Hydraulic Clip

I'm at my wits end trying to get this clip on the clutch petal. I've installed their system but now am stuck trying to get this stupid clip on. Obviously I won't be able to drive unless I can get this attached. Does anybody know an EASY way to put it on? My fingers are just about raw from trying to push it on. #@$%! And having rotator cuff problems doesn't help. Any ideas appreciated.

Well, I finally got the clip on! But now I can't get the truck started. Yes, I did reconnect the clutch switch. I push the clutch in and nothing. Any ideas anyone?

Looks like I got it solved. Of course I had to take the clip off the petal, but much easier the second time around. The directions said to start with the rod adjusted all the way in and then adjust out a "couple" of turns. Seems like it should be more like about 10. In any event the truck started and now seems to shift much easier, especially in reverse. Now to take it out on the road and test it out. Oo.

Thanks, the shifting is much more positive and easier. No more little ticks going into 3rd, and no hangups getting into reverse.

Congrats on getting going!!

Based on your experience I may try to adjust my new slave when the truck comes back from getting it's rear brake line replaced. I still get noise in 3rd but never tried to adjust it after replacing the assy.

You are now at the spot I was a short time ago when I then realized I blew out a brake line just after getting the clutch working with the new slave. (not related to the fine south bend parts, just too much rust on my tired rig)

Brakes shouldn't be a problem as I just had the whole system flushed and new rotors and pads put on the front. Figured it was about time since I had 180,000 on the original pads. That Pacbrake sure helps around these hills. Next on the list is a cooling system flush, hoses, and water pump. Then hopefully good for another few years. Guess we should end this story now since the original problem has been solved.
