Dang Peter is slow. I ordered one of the 0090 con 0 clutches on Tuesday and here it is Thursday and its not here yet. Guess it may be me just acting like a kid looking for the UPS guy every day. Can't wait to get it and get it in.

Peter, would you tell us about this clutch. what is it's applacation, (5-6 speed) how is it built, what friction material's are used on the disk? Thankx

Just kidding

First, the application is from 1989 thru 2000. 5, 5 and 6 speeds, excluding the ETH. The ETH uses our MU 2001 Con FE. This clutch features the 12 1/4 inch pressure plate which we tweek for higher plate load. The clutch disk is a heavy duty sprung center that we line with a organic material that has brass fibers woven throughout the facing. This is a pretty slick setup and has proven to be our best clutch for tork and driveability. It appears to be holding 450 hp and close 1000 foot pounds of tork.

I hope this answers your question. If you have any more or want to view it you can refer to our webpage South Bend Clutch

Peter, I have been meaning to contact you. I have an almost new clutch core out of my 2001 ETH. For the moment, the OEM replacement that I had installed, before y'all worked this clutch thing out, is holding fine. Do you need me to ship you my core for stock and when I am ready for a clutch down the road, I can call you and you could build me one then. In the mean time if someone needed my core, you would have it.

Barry,

We normally sell all new but we do make exceptions for the ETH. If the clutch is like new, we can refurbish it to the HD kit that we make and save the customer a pretty good bit of money.

To answer your question, yes you can send it to me and I will get it ready for when you need it, then all you will have to do is call and it will be on UPS that day.

Peter

P. S. the money that you will save will probably pay for the installation. :)

Got my 0090 con 0 today and have been playing with it in the living room. I get it installed next Friday.

Peter,

This clutch is for the 97 3500 1ton 5 speed. Can the clutch out of this be built into something like the 0090 con 0 if it is in good shape. I'm just replacing the factory with your upgrade right now.

Steve,

Unfortunately we do not reman the stock clutches other than the ETH because we do not use the stock parts. The pressure plate might look the same but you will notice a difference in the casting. The disc we use is altogether different from the OEM disc.

The used clutch that you take out is really not worth keeping because if someone just wanted a stock clutch and has no mods, any supplier or I can provide them brand new for around $210.

Personally the OEM disc scares me, I have seen to many of them come apart!

Now the OEM ETH clutch is awesome. All we had to do with it was tweak it (a little improving) and it will hold whatever HP you can through at it.

SUPER CLUTCH

Just got home after towing my brother in laws backhoe. this clutch rocks. I'm still blown away that a clutch that is this smooth and has so little peddle pressure will hold this well.

WAY COOL Clutch

Got the South Bend clutch in this week and it is really amazing how smooth it is. you can read different posts giving praise to Peter and this con 0 clutch, but until you shift it for yourself, you really can't believe that it could shift this smooth and still be able to handle up to 450 HP. More Kudos to South Bend and Peter, who will spend as much time with you on the phone as you need to get the best clutch for your particular application.

This clutch Rocks I just put another 3k on it while on vacation the last couple of weeks towing just a tad over the CGVWR with just a tad more HP and it worked perfect just like it has since I put it in. Thanks Peter!!!!

I called them and was given a price over the phone for my 99. It is just a matter of time and I'll have one. Their phone number is listed on their web site(see earlier post in this thread for web site). After installing the clutch, I'll be able to use all the power my combination is capable of without any worries.

Has anyone been able to make this clutch slip at all? Did the clutch feel as smooth as the stocker? I was just wondering since most clutches that grab this good have a little chatter from take off and that I would expect.

I haven't been able to make the MU 0090 Con o slip yet I guess I need more POWER! lol So far no one that I have installed the MU 2001 Con FE 2001 clutch for has not had any slippage at all, so far the most power I have thrown at it is about 450 hp.
