South Bend's newest clutch

Just installed South Bend's newest clutch last week and to put it in one word... smooth. It's a cross between the Con FE and the Con O (two different facing materials on the disc). I can't wait to put some weight behind the truck and really test it. Just racing around it's holding all the power and the feel is completely stock. Peter and South Bend just won't sit still and they offer some of the best customer support I've ever seen. Thanks guys.

Do you have the model number for that new clutch? Is it the MU 0090 Con. DF? I am getting ready to order a clutch myself and was sold on the 0090 Con. O. Peter had suggested the Con O over the Con Fe because of the smoothness and the fact that I do tow with my truck. Look forward to hearing about this new clutch.

I was considering this clutch too. I decided to go with a proven design that we all know works. After receiving the clutch... I was really impressed with the design.

Blair Pine is testing this clutch I believe as well.





I have not gotten my transmission back from Standardtransmission yet. Hopefully Thursday. I will install and update soon.

It's not the Con DF. I'm not even sure if Peter has a name for it yet. lol. You might want to give him a call again.

I think that we are going to name this clutch the---



(MU 0090 Con OFE), sounds simple enough.



We are going to rate this clutch at 450+hp and it will fit 89 through 2000. 5, 5 and 6 speeds excluding the ETH.



I believe that Vaman is at or around 500hp but not for sure. If you read his sig. he is loaded up!



Folks, Vaman was happy with our (MU 1938 Con FE) but I asked him if he would be willing to R&D a clutch for us. He did this without a bat of an eye!!!

Wait till the MAD ECM comes out, there will be guys trying to do a fueling box AND the MAD ECM and will be buying clutches at the same time. I have some more miles to put on but I hope to be needing a better clutch than stock...

You crack me up! Not only did I send you another clutch w/sight unseen of the one giving you the problem and after inspection it appeared to be installation error, but it was ok with me. Then offered to help out with your labor by offering you $200, which is $50 an hour for 4 hours labor, and that wasn't good enough for you, you wanted $585. Sorry about your luck. I guess I can't please everyone.

I was hoping to be able to resolve this peacefully, but apparently not. Instead, it's now worth it to me to forego any kind of restitution from SBC let everybody on TDR and everywhere else just what kind of businessman Peter and South Bend Clutch really are.

RobG you have sown yur sour grapes on this. From the sound of things Peter was willing to go the extra mile and your installer wasn't. Rob it really sounds to me like you need to get out and have some FUN!!!!!
