New owner, two questions

Torque Converter

I'll be making a voyage to South Lake Tahoe, CA. [or near by] the end of August and ask if there are any prefered places to pull my 24' 5er into? And what places to avoid?

Looking for full hook-ups.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks all,

Doug M.

Good place but no hookups

DM, try Fallen Leaf Lake campground. It is about ten minutes from town. Real neat place with big campsites that are spread out with plenty of room between each one. Camp Richardson beach on Tahoe is right across from the camp, about a ten minute walk. There are both pull thru and back in sites, water faucets through out the place, a few flusher toilets, paved roads, lots of trees. The lake is right above the campground, medium sized, good for swimming also. You can find it on the Reserveusa website.

I suggest getting reservations real soon for any place up there in August. That is the highest point in the season.

Park the rig and take the truck up to Angora, walk the last mile up to the resort and get some of the best lemonade in the world. It is worth the walk!

We've been going to Tahoe for many years to visit my wife's uncle. We stay at Tahoe Valley Campgorund for the full hookups, room for a 31' 5th wheel with two slides, and convinence to town. It's not the cheapest place in town, but a nice clean RV park with security at the gate.

In August, you'll need reservation. We usualy go in the "off season"(after Labor Day) for less crowds and the "off season" rates.

KOA S/L Tahoe

I stayed at the KOA last Memorial day and it was nice. The host were very friendly. The other campgrounds mentioned are nice also, as we checked then out while there.

My 30' Jayco was about as large as they could accomodate so you should be fine.

It is a bit farther out from town then the others. .

Good Camping in S L Tahoe

D, My family and I have stayed at Tahoe valley Campgrounds and we love the place!! I don't know if you have kids or not but there is plenty of things to do there for everyone. There are many sites in different areas of the park. There are areas where mostly retired folks camp and socialize. We liked it because it is 24 hour gate watched and we didn't have to worry about our kids when they were young. They have a small store, propane, Shuttles that stop there to take you to the casinos(YEH!),and bike trails that lead you into town. One drawback to the place is that it backs up to the Tahoe airport. It can be a little busy on the weekends but always quiet at night. Full hook-ups,cable... just like you never left home!! You have an extra bunk for me?Oo. Chris
