I just became a member, and want to get some feedback from guys actually running the con ofe. I just installed it 300 miles ago and I am not really satified with the smoothness of engagement. when i start out in the morning it's fairly smooth but on the way to work i go through about 10 stop lights. Each pullout the cluch gets alittle grabbier (chattery). Tonight i got stuck in traffic,it took me 45mins to go 5 miles and the clutch is making me angry. I'm seriously considering pulling it out and going with an O disk. It's a 13" and i got the new flywheel with kit and was very careful not to touch the disk surface with my fingers! I've heard that this supposed to be a smooth clutch but maybe we all have a different opinion of smooth!

I had mine for about 100000 miles now. No complaints, and I see no difference from when I ran the stock one, and we can certainly get into some heavy traffic around here. Now if you try using too much loud pedal with it, it will certainly start acting up, and get a little grabby.

just part of the game when you want more power. if you want to slip the clutch go DD then you can hear the chatter... my FE is very grabby but i'll pay the price to know it will be their when i need it...

+1 to all mentioned above. Mine's just SLIGHTLY grabby. Use a gear sutable to get you rolling in short order and get off the clutch. Slow stop-n-go use 1st and if it looks like you are going to be able to roll use 2nd and let it off faster and go.

I have the fe, it likes some rpm to smooth it out. also now with 12~13k miles it is much smoother now then when it was new. give it some more miles!

did you go with a new flywheel when you got the new clutch setup? or did you have yours machined? if the runout is too excessive you will get the chatter you are talking about. also what are you running as a power adder?

when i first installed mine, i hade my smarty on sw9 and it was a little grabby because of the higher level of TM. delete. but once i turned it down the take offs are just like stock. very smooth. i understand we are talking about two different trannies here but the clutch engagement should still be very smooth with your OFE.

I just installed ofe and find it to be very smooooth compared to the last aftermarket clutch that I had.

Let it break in and then post back.

Well guys i have about a 1000m on the clutch now, it did get alittle smoother but mostly its all about getting it engaged quickly. this seems to keep it from heating up, and getting grabby. It is much smoother that way. It don't like getting slipped for smooth pullout its just gonna heat it up, and its will get annoying chatter. With that being said, i am happy with the clutch. It holds Great, never slipped. I'm in the 900+ foot lb range , as the truck dynoed at 410 and 892tq with the old clutch slipping, the comp was on level 3x3!

Yeah, mine is more grabby than stock, but it's not near as bad as some clutches I've had in other modified vehicles. I can tow and play and not worry about it slipping, so I'm good. I never expected it to be as smooth as stock considering it's an upgrade and I expect it not to slip.
