Archived southbend dd3600 install problems

I'm having trouble with the shop installing my clutch. It was originally in my 2004. 5 with the nv5600, and now it is going in my 1998. 4 12 valve with an nv5600. They are telling me that the transmission does not have room for the throwout bearing once mounted up. . I know I need the starter spacer, is there a different clutch fork for the dual disk?? Also, how are the disks supposed to be faced? I tried to look for lettering, but found nothing. . help me!!
