You all should have gotten my email if you have sent my your address, I'm posting the information here for those who have not or didn;t get the email.
At this point, we have no reservation (they charge $60 for a reserved covered picnic area ) So at this point we are going to pick a spot and go for it. There is only one entrance to the park and we will be East of that entrance most likely, as there is more parking down that way. I beleive there is also a small charge to get in to the park .
We shouldn't be too hard to find . I'll have both of mine there (making the wifee drive one:-laf )
I read that the park is beer free. That's not free beer. I will bring some soft drinks and a iced cooler. I know Fred has bought his grill in the past, but he has volunteer too many times and he will be coming from San Diego. Is there anyone closer that has a grill. Everyone bring his or her own food?
Not to take away from your plans Kev, but I get hunger when I am looking at and talking diesels.
I just figured we'd leave a couple trucks running and cook off the manifold. We might have to keep the RPM's up there (anybody have a high idler??) to maintain good cooking temps:-laf - Just Kidding? I'll have the BBQ ready, no need for worries about that. I'm bringing some munchies and drinks, but everyone should plan on bringing food /drink. Should be fun to get everyone back together again!
Front brake pads on my truck are toast. I will be replacing them in the morning. Sorry I wont be able to attend. Have fun, be careful, and I be at the next one for sure... Greg
Have to work tomorrow. The bain of being a self employed sub contractor. But Christmas is coming and the money is needed so I'll catch you all at the next one.
:-laf LOL at Hutch..... Yeah The Kids were draggin Casey all over the place. Bob & I finally had to leave, we ran out of sunlight and the kid got cold .
If we can get a a dozen more guys to show next time Bob says we'll raffle off a truck ... ... .....
Thanks to all for getting over there and showing support. We had a couple of guys skip out before lunch, but my count was (inlcuding my two trucks) 20 trucks. Including one real nice first Gen. Nice to see one to represent the truck that started it all!
I had at least 9 more that wanted to make it but couldn't. I'd say that's a pretty strong start. I'll be compiling the information we took from everyone and we'll start getting things rolling. Looks like there is a good interest in a possible spring camping trip??
I am so bummed. I worked all day then went to work tonight. Just got home and its 2 am. Gald you guys had a great time. I will be at the next one for sure. Can we say DYNO???????????
Greg- Sorry to hear about your brakes. Hell, you could have limped it here and we would have fixed it .
Should have snaked that 03 away from the wife- we would have had all three generations there then!! We'd love to see it and get you there next time. I am ironing out the details and will giving you all a chance to help determine the when, where, and whats of the next one!!
Had a great time, good job Kevin. Everyone I met was a standup guy, also found more ways to spend $. Hutch, appreciate the ride down there with you guys, you sure had your hands full, LOL. Thanks Bob for the raffle, didn't win, but next time !
Bruce- Scott- And any others, this wasn't a one time oppourtunity. If you haven't done so yet, shoot me an email at OC TDR, include name address, TDR handle, mechanical ability, truck info and anything else you want to see us do as a group. I am compiling the info and will great a directory and use the info to keep everyone informed of happenings.
