Southwest Texas State University Name Change

What was Governor Rick Perry thinking/ smoking when he changed the name of one of the top universities in the state?? it has been Southwest Texas State University for years, and now he wants to change tradition and rename it to Texas State University at San Marcos or something like that... I think that was very dumb, and why to these people have to change things that are perfectly fine?! I would like to slap him in the face, and ask him, "Dude, what in the hell were you thinking?!" I listen to a local station, about 10 miles from San Marcos, and all this morning, they are calling it Texas State University... . Very aggravating. . Oh well, it will always be SWT in my mind. .

I agree Chris, it will always be SWT for me to!!! I didn't graduate from there but have several cousins who did. I am a SFA grad, but spent several MEMORABLE weekends in San Marcus.



I think that some people want change simply... ... ... ... BECAUSE . They remind you of the people at work who have to constantly keep things stirred up. You know, they are not happy unless there is some kind of drama unfolding around them.



If you haven't already, stop by the bookstore and pickup a couple stickers with SWT on them and display them proudly!!!!!!
