SP Diesels new box.

Well, I got the chance today to play with the new SP diesel box that is about to hit the market. It has some really nice features and is packed in a very small compact unit. The one thing that I insatantly fell in love with was a built in RAIL PRESURE GAUGE. Oo. I like finally being able to see what is happening with my pressures. The also have some other pretty slick adjustments within thew box. I don't want to spill too much of the beans. :-laf



It will definitely be a nice product when realeased. Some of tunes can come on down right aggressive Oo. I am going to be working with them on some tunes to stack with others boxes. Hopefully they will chime in and drop some more info.

Is it adjustable like the Juice with different power levels? Timing, pressure, duration, or all of the above? If it tells rail pressure, I assume it has some kind of monitor? What other gauges are built in? When do you think it will be ready for sale?

I saw it as well. A VERY slick unit. I'm sure Sean or Brad will chime in soon with some more details.

10 power levels. Pressure and boost control box. Adjustable boost controller, you set the boost limit psi and it pulses the wastegate on the 600-610 trucks. Gauges are boost psi and rail pressure. It has one other feature that I am not sure if I am at liberty to discuss yet. It involves being able to tailor how fast the fuel comes on regardless of the power level. Sort of like a torque enhancement setting.

oh yeah, if memory serves me correct, I think they said it had a scheduled release date some time in November.

I have never looked at my stock or aftermarket turbo very much, but would it be possible to use the electronic wastegate from the stock turbo and add it to an aftermarket turbo to control boost? If so, that would be ! Does the turbo on the 600/610 have a conventional wastegate with an "electronic valve" in place of the "boost elbow"?

As a side note for those with problems with CB radios and several of the boxes out there, SP Diesel has really seemed to have solved the problem! I run a little extra power from time to time for those long cummutes and when I'd key up the truck would idle rough and then die. Now, full power and not a whisper of trouble. I kinda lost a bet with Sean, on my radio being able to kill his new box :-laf Congrats to SP Diesel! Also, On the trip up to Fall Brawl my overhead was showing about 15. 2, and on the way back I tanked up, reset, and within less then 100 miles I was seeing more mileage on the overhead then I'd ever seen before... 20. 7 with only about 10100 miles on the clock and having never towed a thing. And folks... This is just a BETA box I'm running for them. Can't wait to see what they do with the programming in the near future! The box is VERY easy to install and is very user friendly. Meanwhile. . I have to check a few things on my truck. Might have some slipping in the transmission, but thats another story.

Boxes? How about Quad! :-laf That's the only one that by keying the CB mic, the engine dies. :-laf



Just another note, the overhead computer for mileage, means nothing. You must hand calculate.

If you read what we put above, that's what was said. We never mentioned the wastegate was electronic. Just the solenoid that allows pressure to go to the wastegate.

Lloyd has summed up a lot of the great new features that will be included in our new product line that he and others are currently beta testing.



Our new performance module lineup should be the first on the market to have a built in high pressure fuel gauge that shows actual rail pressure readings. There will be no more guess work on how much rail pressure your CP3 is pushing. We decided it was time to put the market wide rail pressure mystery to bed, and let our customers no exactly how much rail pressure is being produced.



As Lloyd alluded, depending on the version, the module will also have a built in boost gauge, and the ability to control the factory wastegate solenoid on 600+ motors. We are working with Lloyd and others on the possibility of expanding this control to those who have aftermarket singles and twins who want in cab adjustability of there boost levels on the fly.



Our new product line has been designed with the customer in mind and on the fly custom adjustability. We have a couple more surprises that are new to the market that we will announce as we come closer to the official release.

you do know that the overhead mileage numbers are incorrect right?



wouldn't you need another map or something else besides the stock map to get accurate readings above ~35 psi?

What kind of pressures is it showing at idle with the pressure turned off.

The stock boost sensor is actually pretty reliable up to the lower 40s. If you are pushing beyond the lower 40s we would recomend an aftermarket turbo, and a 60+psi mechanical boost gauge.



Garry, the idle pressure is around 5000 psi.

I won't mention names but a select few of the testers have high-powered linears on their radio sets that allow us to test for EMI/RFI under worst case conditions. Anyone with a Linear can appreciate how that kind of thing can screw with some electronics.
