Good post HC  . One of the things that Brandon had me do, prior to my SPA install, was to take apart the electrical plug. I was all set to drill a new hole in the firewall (the plug is somewhat cumbersome) but I took the plug apart, made for a easy snake through my already cramped firewall access and I got to see how the plug was connected and made sure all wires were tight prior to re-installing the plug. I didn't solder mine, but that's a great idea and I will if a problem ever presents itself. Those wires are very small at the plug connections and it's easy to see how they may loose contact over time and vibration from the mighty Cummins.

I have the SPA boost & EGT gauge. It is great but I have one problem. The backlight flickers and sometimes completely goes out.

I have tried to contact SPA through email with no luck. Do you have any suggestions? I bought the gauge from DIS.

Also, for the guys with the erratic boost readings. Try and put a little dielectric grease on the plug of the sensor. This cured my problem.

Thanks to all

I've enjoyed the SPA gauge since I discovered it. Mine came directly from the US distributor for SPA in indiana.

I had to endure the R&D as folks like MCrossley learned the original suggested temp sensor was nowhere near robust enough for our application.

MCrossely and HVAC have/had some kind of relationship on these and now I only hear HVAC of those two doing the selling.

Regardless, even though I did not buy from them, they have supported me for the few technical issues I have had. I go to them as the US distributor seems more focused on the race track (INDY) then our market.

The SPA is likely not for everyone, but all problems I have have been attributed to the nasty environment my truck lives in. 90% dirt roads and winter nearly 75-100% in four wheel drive.

My last problem came after an overzealous engine room cleaning session... :D

Pressure is the problem with wiring, Temp problems have only been due to the sensor being too small at first (resolved) and the second failure was self induced as I did not support the wires coming out of the sensor and it snapped off from the vibration.

Would I buy it again with what my experience has been thus far? (this from one of the original buyers)?? yes!

Can I speak to shipping shortages? no
