Hi, went down to Nowell's this past weekend and I picked up a Spa boost/egt guage. I was looking at the hole with the plastic cover in the dash that covers the PRNDL that would normally be found in autos. the display for the spa guages is close in size. Has anyone tried to mount the guage in this location? I don't necessarily want to tear up the dash to get there, but it would look trick with the guage there. Otherwise, I'll just go with A pillar mount.

Ranger D there have been a few of us with that very same question not necessarly just that area but mounted into the dash somehow, problem is I think most of the Gauge cluster is sealed.

Well, I guess The brain trust has spoken. It's on to the Pillar mount. Mike Looks like it will install next week. I'll call if I have any questions. Nowel, now that the warranty is voided, time to BOMB? I'll wait till the funds appear, but injectors are not out of the question. Thanks for all the help this weekend. How'd the green ram come out?

The green Ram has blended into the yard just fine by my estimation. I'm thinkin that diesel lawn furniture may have a future #ad

Actually the new transmission came yesterday and I dropped it off at the transmission shop. We are set for R & R on Monday.

Hey Ranger, what you doing next weekend? Saturday we are alllll going to Brandon's in Modestamo #ad
BOMB, BOMB, and then some BOMB! #ad

Mounting anything in the gear selector spot is easy. I mounted two red LED's there for my intake heater pilot lights. This part of the cluster is not sealed. The gear selector space on the manual transmission trucks is covered by a black plastic insert. It comes out real easy, and there is plenty of space behind it for anything you may want to add. Will an SPA gauge fit? Yeah, I don't see why not. Just BOMB it and make it work. #ad

Tempting. Went to inspect the dash. Pulled the instrument cluster out, pulled the black insert that covers the prndl hole and compared the size of the hole and the size of the guage. Close but not quite. The Fuel guage is too low in the cluster and the SPA guage will not center. I could probable hot knife the whole thing and cobble it in, but this is not my style. Nowel, Do you have just the guage guts, with out housing? This might be a possibility. I could use the plastic insert as the holder. Sorry about next weekend. The kids got birthday parties and more get togethers to attend. I'm off tuesday if you need help with the transmission. Give me a ring.

Maybe you can use just the display part of the SPA gauge... Take out the screen and just put that in, and not the whole round part. Just a thought...

Ranger Dick, you make the SPA gauge sound like a cleaned abalone, just guts-no housing.
Taking the housing off isn't recommended. When we have bulb problems we send them back to SPA.

Regarding those kids, there is a strong market for them #ad

Nowel/Performance Diesel, the people who turned Evan on to the SPA's

Nowel, like abalone, spa's are very valuable. Therefore, I'm going to keep the guage intact. Keep the pod coming, I'm going for the A-pillar. Have fun next weekend. Evan, you and I must be thinking the same thoughts. Gotta meet you whenever you get down this way. I wanna see those $1000 deer repellant devices you installed in place of headlights. Thanks for all the input.
