Does anyone know when the SPA Mark II gauges will be available?

Will other guages be included besides the essential Boost/EGT? I'd like to get something like fuel pressure/??? to go with it, but would want it to dim like the new ones as well.

Any suggestions for what would be the fourth thing to monitor?

Thanks,

Matt

Don't think that I'll wait for that reason....

I've been going to wait for the MarkII EGT/Boost, but I don't think I will anymore because with 2 more gauges up there(I am getting 2 others on the A-pilar), they are going to be bright anyways, so whats the point?

Andrew

Presumably they won't upgrade just the Boost/EGT gauge, but the whole line. If that's the case, it might be worth the wait. I suspect that there isn't much different between gauges except the face plate--if that's true, new everything is right around the corner.

Matt

I know I asked if they had a pressure / pressure dual gauge, since I have no desire for the pressure / voltage combo. They told me that will be an option in 2 or 3 months.

Available in February

MASSDIESEL tells me they will be available in February.

The new gauges look identical to the old guages to my knowlege. The changes have more to do with functionality, where the decimal point is in the readout, and in the ability to dim. Did I also read that color background was changeable?

I think they might have a pressure/pressure gauge. HC, what would you do with it? I know I want Boost/EGT and fuel pressure, but I'm trying to decide on the fourth measure. What is your thinking?

Matt,

This board has convinced me that a fuel pressure gauge is much needed to protect that very expensive VP44, and to avoid a surprise breakdown on the road all over a $120 lift pump. Right now that comes only as a fuel pressure / voltage combo (from SPA). I'm OK with the factory voltage gauge, so I'd like to see either fuel pressure / fuel pressure, or fuel pressure / oil pressure. I like the fuel / fuel idea because it would immediately tell you whether a problem is more likely your pump, or just something clogging your filter. I would like the fuel / oil, because I'd like an actual numerical readout on oil pressure. The dual remote filters do drop the pressure some according to the factory gauge, and until I get about 500k miles experience, I'd just be more comfortable knowing a numerical value. Also, if I ever did have an real oil pressure problem, I think I'd notice the bright SPA warning lights on the pillar pod much faster than the factory "check gauges" warning. Finally, the factory pressure sending unit doesn't seem to have that great of a reputation, and at least one member reported that when testing his system, the Dealer "reflashed" so that his gauge became a "mid range dummy" just like the Fords. Add that all up, and an aftermarket oil gauge starts looking pretty good.

HC, I'm with you, like I said, Boost/EGT/Fuel pressure. Steve St L. was able to figure out pretty quickly that his fuel filter was clogged because he had two pressure probes, before and after the filter. One gauge would have told him he had a problem, but not whether it was the pump or the filter. Oil pressure is also an excellent idea based on what you said. I'd really like to keep it to two gauges, rather than three.

I'll have to think about this some more... what the heck... there's plenty of time.

what about the......

What about the temp/pressure one. I am planning on getting 2 of those and the boost/EGT.

1-boost/egt

2-auto trans temp/pre filter

3-oil temp/post filter

Late Febuary?!?!

I would still like to see some pics.

Andrew

I can tell you the guage is "awesome", Lets just say chrome, cocky, choices of screen color, great dimming options, if you like to have the best, wait. i don't know if i was allowed to tell.

I better ask my better half. well worth the wait.....

danelle

(wife);) :D

hey danelle, wanna race:p :p . oh i forgot, that shiny new gauge didnt add any horsepower, so tell me when is it coming, or did you already order it. you know what im talking about.

What about customer support ???

Brandon,

Do you know if there customer support is going to get any better ? I am still pi$$ed I spent so much money ($773. 00) on these gauges and can't them right because they won't support the distributor I bought them from. My DG-111 is barley readable and has been since the day I powered it up, My DG-114 is crooked in the bezel (not a mounting issue) very noticable. Don't get me wrong I like the gauges but I shouldn't have to settle for less then advertised espacialy at these prices.

Still want a pic....

Brandon, or anybody,

I want some pics of these new gauges, please. The suspence(sp) is killing me. After the dyno day this weekend I am at my ropes end just to find out what they look like. :(

Doesn't ANYBODY have some type of pic of these?

Andrew

Man that is mean..... but I like your style Danelle... . :D

Quoting Danelle:

mines already on whats your excuse?

Danelle

I hope the fuel gauge is bombed also... .

spa mark II

Well here is a picture of the mark II, It has a chrome bezel, and a white face. I love it. It has choices of a red or green screen. It has 15 levels of dimming on each screen. (yes 15) It measures boost in tenths. Aslo included is a direction book, by book i mean there are a lot of options for this new guage.

I love it. I think the availibility is about a month out.

I wish it came in hot pink to match my valve cover, oh well.

can't have everything. I love digital...

danelle

ps hey phil, i think i'm having twins!!:D :D :D :D :D ;)
