I talked to SPA today and was told that 200 were on order. Could not give a date as to when they will be in. They are taking orders for the new gauges and as the gauges come in they will be distributed as the list first. They also said that they offer an exchange for the old guage heads to new for 85. 00. The wiring etc. is the same and the gauge head will connect the same as old.

That's interesting. I sent SPA an email asking about an exchange/upgrade and haven't heard from them yet. It's only been a week (1/10/02).....

ISSPO's bite your tounge... No no i like my 1st generation spa's. the dimming feature is cool, but the white faces are kind of girly. oh wait, you are a girl, i guess it's ok then.

Oh, man, why do they have to be white? When did gauges get into this fashion statement white cr*p? Can anyone give me a functional reason for white gauges? And don't tell me it's because they are easier to read...



If I wanted white gauges, I'd go buy a sailboat.

Just got off the phone with Ron at SPA. Needed to order another thermocouple and amplifier for the second egt source. We got to talking about the new gauges and as stated above they are in the works and he does have a few hundred on order and expects them to be in over the coming weeks. He said the ones he has on order look like the originals (with the features mentioned previously) no white face or chrome bezel but they will have those to later. He mentioned that they have 19 different gauges currently and can't keep those in stock much less doubling that to 38 with the white faces with the new product roll out. Also mentioned they are coming out with some new ones like hourmeter, fuel level and air/fuel ratio as well as a few others. And they are offering the upgrade for 85. 00.

If you think they're small in the USA, you guys should see the head office in England..... I paid these guys a visit a few months ago to sort out a minor warranty problem and they sorted it there and then on the spot . BTW the factory is a converted church! They're a victim of their own success. I'm currently in S E Asia and won't be back in England until nearer Easter, otherwise I'd make the "pilgrimage" again and take some pictures and post them here for you guys.

I talked with the SPA US folks yesterday. The new gauges are available, and usually are a two to three week wait. I gather they are making them as fast as they can.

I just had this mental block; ADT around these parts is a company that installs security systems... . So far as I can tell, I can go direct to SPA-US, but I'll talk to ADT if there's a snag.

Call ADT, or Brandon. Both can hook you up I think. I have one, Brandon had the first one in the US, and I think a user named EagleEye has one. Beyond that I have no idea. Prices are the same belive it or not.

I got one this week direct from SPA Technique. I should get another in a couple weeks (back-ordered). You can get them in black or white face. Prices are a little bit more I think (?) It's one nice looking gauge!

Wow...Good call on the gage...

Yep, I have had a DG212 (fuel psi and temp) installed for a bit now. UNFORTUNATELY, I ordered the White face and got the Black face. Couldn't wait to install (needed the info from the gage) and went ahead and installed it. Talked to SPA and it sounded as if it would take forever to get a white one.



Anyone who doesn't like the white face, I'll trade ya gage for gage.



So far, I am very satisfied with the performance and accuracy of the gage. It works and works well. AND... It has some definitely cool features, and it is nice to change the color to red, and vary the intensity. Hard to compare with the 1st gen of SPA, because this is my first. I would recommend them. It took me awhile to get ahold of SPA here in the states, but when I finally did, they got one to me fairly quick.
