Space between Bumpstop and Axel - Front

Does anyone know the exact distance for this when the trucks left the factory???
Mine has only a little more then one inch now, no lift of course.
Is this OEM or bottomed my springs over the years?

130K on rough Michigan roads, all stock body (no extra weight on the front end), truck came with snow plow prep package: 2-1/4" between bump stop and axle.

OK! Great issue here! I think any 3 gen truck still running OE born with front springs would benefit from a freshen up. What to put in? I think I speak for many when I say that I can't afford a full blown Carli or similar setup, so while looking for a quality OE replacement, keeping the ride height somewhat stock, what's out there?

I used a set of Thuren soft ride springs. Now have a front suspension that works quite well.

The stock front end has too little bump travel to work well. Even 2" is a big improvement. I have tried some soft eibach springs and 5100 Bilsteins for a friend that drives sanely. He loves the comfort

I put Timbrens front and rear on my 2003. The fronts touch all the time and the rears have about 3/4" gap. Timbren states the constant contact on the front is ok so I have left them alone. The ride is extremely firm but I like that.

Those 2" soft ride springs look like just what the doctor ordered. A full blown Carli system would be sweet... but the cash has to go every where else first.( shop,house, 2nd car, food... haha)

Am curious what else is required to make these work on a stock truck. I have some 5100's that supposedly work up to 2" of lift. I have brake lines that

are good for 3" more. Already installed BD sway bar endlinks. ( Don't know if these will still work by reinstalling them after spring upgrade ) I never really

considered a lift kit to be in my future. I would prefer to keep the good road manners while towing. I won't be 4 wheeling my diesel longbed. Mainly highway

and some BLM and other gravel roads. I think a couple inches in the front to get a less harsh ride would be fantastic, however. Will probably add some airbags

in the rear at some point to keep things leveled out. I guess my concern is having to use an adjustable track bar. Any comments, suggestions, or tips would

be much appreciated. Thanks

Stock brake lines, 5100's, stock sway bar links all work fine. Even the stock track bar will be fine with that minimal lift even though the front may be off just a tad. Since your springs are already worn you will probably get 3" of lift total.
