We have a old highway above town that was deadended when the new freeway was built. Closest thing to a race track as you can get (no traffic)



Thats what they get for blocking the road to my shooting spot.

it was a stock 6. 0 b/c a chipped will make you look bad with the bombs you have. you would need to be making 400 to keep up with a chipped 6. 0. they are putting down 400hp with a chip. you would need dd2's and a drag comp and hx 40

Yeah but at that HP they cant shift right with the auto's and its not hard to make up ground on em'.
 
My point exactly, If they can't shift properly then they can't walk away from you. I am not the fastest truck out there... . my truck is actually for towing, but I sure make a lot of fords look silly, chipped ones too. Don't get me wrong. They have beat me as well. Live and learn it's all for fun.

Your a snowmobiler from CA ?!? Have you ashpalt raced that Tcat ? A friend of mine just set some ashpalt record on a 1400cc ZRT, 8. 22@164 spraying it 300 ft out.

How do you like your Pro XR ? I've got an 03 ProX700 and love it. It took a lot of clutch work though.

I did some minor research. A 24v with an edge ez and 275s will beat a 6. 0 in the quarter. A chipped 6. 0 will make mince meat out of most of our trucks. We are talking super mental, drag comp, b1 territory. They are pretty darn fast.

The 600 is faster out of the box. Pickuptruck.com tested it and found different results of course. Maybe dodge should pony up and buy a few tests.
 
But isn't the hard part keeping the 6. 0 running ?:D



I love snowmobiling, been doing it since 1989. I've got an offshore powerboat and would give that up before the sleds.
 
You beat a middle aged women. I would n't have even told that story. Seriously, I know from my days of street racing and track racing (DRAG RACING) that the driver makes a huge difference in these situations. I've beaten people many times with cars that were not as fast as those that I was racing so it really means nothing. Man... ..... times have really changed. (i don't advocate street racing or smoking someone out with diesel)

Agree. I raise the BS flag on this one. My wife excursion would lay the hurt on you with you mods. It's chipped but runs 37" tires and still feels just as fast if not a little better when I ran my truck with a comp and dd3's with stock turbo.

Just look at Angel Cieling (NHRA prostock bike) she has beaten many men on the tree.

Why so politically correct now ? I used to street race (12 years ago when a 10 second car was fast) and am not afraid to talk about it, man I actually miss it . But now with 8 second small tire cars on the street it is WAY to dangerous ,not to mention all the young punks that would rather fight or shoot than have fun.

What's with the BS flag ?!? Like I said " I hope it was stock" , did I say it was modded up ? IF I was going to BS I would have said it had four drop dead gorgeous girls , 5 inch exhaust , a trio of gauges on the piller , Banks stickers all over and the only way I beat it was the Ford was spinning the tires so hard and I hooked. Now that's BS. :)

could be it wasn't but was your standard Ford and had problems. who knows, atleast he was honest.
 
my truck's pretty light, but I drug a chipped 6. 0 pretty good on the highway back when I had a #6 plate and wasn't seeing full boost till ~2600rpm... it woulda been ugly with my flat plate! :cool:

I have the unfortunate opportunity to drive a new 6. 0 powerchoke ten days a month at work. It is auto 1 ton dually with 4. 10. I weighs about 11k#s. When it runs wich isn't all the time it runs ok at best. It has surprisingly slow spool up, and gets horrible fuel mileage. The latest on th piece of **** is the fan clutch is fully engaged and won't shut off so the fuel mileage went from 8mpg to about 5mpg. The ride is horrible and it sounds like the front end will fall out of it. The transmission whines more than the turbo and I call it christine because at idle the rpms flucuate alot. It has 14k miles on it and has been to the dealer more times than not.
 
Where I come from the inside lane is for passing. It really sounds to me like she wasn't even racing you at all. I think she was just trying to get you away from her vehicle. I hate for some one to pull up beside me and not pass. I'll bet I'm not the only one that feels that way. The racing thing is not as black and white as it may seem. It means nothing to here about it because there are wayyyy to many variables to be meaningful. The biggest variable is weight. My truck is four times what I consider to be light. (for racing purposes) Lets see your truck weighs 6500lbs and my truck weighs "11klbs". Duh ... ... ... . and the next thing you see is a post on here about your truck spanking me. It's a non-issue unless your on the track and comparing apples to apples.

There seems to be a lot of trash talking on TDR about brands. Is it because the other guys(ford or chevy) are doing it? I say let the other guy talk. I personally let the machine speak for me. (Mileage,Miles run on the truck,1/4 mile times at the track ect. ect)

11k is heavy. I think you would find similar issues if you loaded a dodge the same way.
