NTC 350 questions

Yeah 11k is a little heavy but we also have a stock 4x4 excursion in the fleet and it perfroms close to the same. Our 03 ctd pulling an enclosed with a combined wieght of around 14k with two more tires on the ground performs better than the Ford. It all comes down to a matter of taste, a friend bought a Ford recently because he said it was the "in thing", what a goober. I prefer the tried and true ctd myself.

N5,

First off the rd has two lanes going each way so no "passing" lane, second off she's the one that hammered it first , Third my truck is set up for towing and probably couldn't get into the 15's if it tried, and lastly I've drag raced cars, snowmobiles, and currently I'm into offshore powerboats so whether I beat a Ford or any other truck really isn't going to bother me what really bothers me is people that have to tear apart someones thread , that was posted more for the humor of a middle aged woman in a diesel truck that wanted to race. Not to mention we did run from a light too. Now was I mistaking her powerbraking just before the light turned green as sign that she wanted to pick me up or race:rolleyes:

Sorry people , I just take offence to being called a BS'er. If she would have one I would have told the truth.

You sound like one of those street racers that ALWAYS had some kind of excuse when they lost. Sorry in my book second place is always the first loser.

A little heavy? That's real heavy. Come on. If you load up that 91 of yours with 11k pounds, how do you think it's gonna perform? I've got 500hp on my 01 and I know if I load it up to 11k, It's gonna be a pig. I believe the excursion weighs in around 8-9k pounds (4x4 limited). Unless that 03 has the 7. 3 in it, something is wrong. My 04 excursion has 37" tires on it with 3. 73's with a chip and it does real well. Like I said in an earlier post, It's real comparable to when I had dd3's and comp on my 01. I use to bash the Fords till I owned one and now I don't see much room to bash. It's no comparison to my 01 because it's 3 years newer. Not to mention I've probably got 10k in upgrades on my 01. Ofcourse my CTD will run circles around it but in stock form it wouldn't have a chance. Wonder what would happen if I sunk 10k into the 6. 0? From a dependability perspective, my dodge has seen it's far share of repairs. From steering boxes, trannys, lift pumps etc... So far so good with my Phurd @ 18k. Crossing my fingers for sure though. I just think if we are going to give comparisons, it should be Apples to Apples. All of this is my opinion of course. Flame suit on and zipped.

Tear apart someones thread? Man relax. We all paid our yearly dues to post here. Hence "forum" AKA-discussion, round-table etc. . are we not allowed to post unless we agree with the post orginator? You tear into N5 but if you look at most DMV hand books you will read the left lane is for passing. Likewise you comment from the orginal post of-

"I let her catch up and was going to give her a wink or smile, it was kinda cool racing her but she gave me a dirty look and kept going. "

Um... Maybe the dirty look was the give away that she wasn't intending to race? Maybe she was trying to get to her kids soccer practice and you imagined she was racing? Not trying to say you are lying just putting out the possiblilty she found you annoying by speeding and slowing and then speeding again? dunno but I am sure you are going to fire back with the fury so I've got my flame suit on. :D

Don't worry Kbond and N5 I'm done. You can go and pick apart someone elses posts.

For the record it is a 4 lane rd with 2 lanes going each way , what's with this passing lane ?

I think you took my post and point completely wrong Mr. Warner. What I'm trying to say is grow up. If you want to race, bye a race car and do it at the track. Things are way different now. The roads are much more crowded than when we were kids. Racing is fun but not on the streets. Maybe you can strip 3 or 4k lbs out of your dodge.

Stories about beating little old lady's don't mean anything. Time slips with ET and MPH tell me something.

And while I'm on the box, whats the deal with smoking people out? I'm embarrassed when I read those post. I don't see a darn thing cool about it. Some people have more money than sense. I love my Cummins, but if this is the typical Dodge boy attitude I'm probably better off somewhere else.

Oh, In Texas the inside lane is for passing. On a non-divided highway of course you would also make left turns from there. (no body obeys this though)

On a two lane road with a good shoulder REAL Texans will move over to allow faster traffic to pass. (every time)

I'm happy with my choice of vehicle. Let the other guys talk trash.

Well I deleted the original post. I was unable to delete the whole thread.

I can see some people are WAY to serious on this site.

And for one i don't care for some of the comments I received.

Now I'm going to remove my BOMB's and reinstall them when I get to the dragstrip so I can race my tow vehicle
