Ya know... ..... a couple things to consider here are 1) our trucks outweigh the Chibby by about 1,000 pounds and the Furd by about 750 pounds or at least that's what a recent comparison test said anyway. 2) The Dodge auto transmission just isn't in the hunt. Like the guy said, the six-gun may have detected this and laid back to keep from frying anything expensive. I'll bet that a uh, Ahemmm!!, 6-speed would'a handled it just peachy. Just kiddin'. ;)
 
there might be something wrong with your truck as well. I've heard and seen it all. Their exhaust temps were probably sky high. they were'nt smart enough to get a cummins so that explains that part. I pull a 12k 5th wheel up 6% grades at 60mph on I-70 in Colorado. Haven't seen a chevy or ford pass me yet I'm doin the passing. Exhaust temps at 1300. talk to cummins they said 1300 all day long. You got to give it cool down time before you shut it off. Its a very well engineered truck. I am very pleased with my 03 and very pleased that I can go up steep grades with out lifting,even in the heat of summer. I run the dyno at my dealership. The ford and chevys just dont impress me.
