Drawing some conclusions from Mopar Muscle's tests on another thread
A flow meter would be a better tool than a pressure guage to determine fuel efficiency.
We might be trying to correct a problem that really don't exist without heavy bombing.
Other posts indicate that when the injector pump don't get enough fuel you will experience surging or bucking problems.
Our stock lift pumps last any where from zero to 140,000 miles and there should be some indication when you change filters and pump the canister full that it is getting weak.
What if it quits say in the middle of British Columbia or some remote place.
Thinking this all over, I decided to buy a spare stock pump and carry it with me. I stopped at my local Cummins Dealer and he didn't have one but can have me one tommorrow.
If it would have quit right in front of his shop, he couldn't have fixed it for a couple of days. Hows that for having a point made. Any way I will pick it up monday for $136. 00. Cheap insurance I think.
Another note. He wanted to get my engine number and in the process saw my EZ and said "How well does that work". I said "you aren't supposed to see that". He said "No, No, I want to know because I am thinking of getting a few to see if they will sell"
