I have recently purchased a portable generator to take along with my TT when we dry camp. I will need some spare gas, since the generator has a 1 gal fuel tank. Any suggestions on the best/safest place to carry it? My truck has a shell, which is carpeted and doubles as the "dog carrier", although I could probably store it there if necessary. Any R/Vers out there with thoughts on the subject?

Sarge-

I think that this is the very reason that most camping generators run on propane. Could you possibly hang it on the outside of your TT like the jeeps do?

Spare gas for genset

If you had a receiver hitch on the rear of your TT then you could buy or make a hitch hauler to put your gas cans on.

It's not a problem for us since the dog rides up front with the kids;)

Myself I would not feel safe with gas in the bed, but I have to admit I have done it. I would sure find a way to carry it on the TT and up high enough to be out of range of a rear ender.

I think your all right. The gas in the bed would work, but I'm not real comfortable with that . Think I will see about a bumper mount of some sort. Thanks, Sarge
