spare tire stolen!!

Guys I had the spare tire stolen out from under my truck the other day. I noticed it when I was checking the fluid in my rear end. If anybody has an extra wheel or knows where I could get one I would be very thankful.

I was under my truck once & pushed on the tire & it was loose

maybe yours fell off,I think if it only dropped a inch or two then hit a bump it could fall.

Oh you know it when one falls off really can tell if you are at speed. The fools at the tire place had it on cock-eyed I guess and it fell off at 70-75 when it fell it hit front edge first lifting truck 6-8 inches in the air and launching tire 60-70ft in the air. My Dad was behind me or I would never have found tire it rolled about a mile down round crossed interstate and rolled up into a culvert.

And I thought getting a rock in my windshield $ucked Just imagine if your tire hit any cars (or worse... ... . motorcycles) I often wonder what kind of morons companies let work on our vehicles.

If you slowed down a just a bit the tire should have landed in the bed of your truck.



Caleb, I have four stock(standard) rims sitting at my business. Last December I put on aluminum wheels.



Unfortunately I just went through Tennesse Wednesday on the way back home (Florida). But if an arrangement can be made to get one up there you can have it(one).



When I was in Kansas (kansas City) and on occasion when I had to break hard I was hearing a lot of racket from right behind cab so I started to check things out found my spare was loose. Tighten it up.

Figured noise mite becoming from my side boards the 2x3's shake a little. Never noticed it here in Florida. Had new shocks put on and new pistons in the back brakes before I went on vacation.

I'm going to have them pull the drums to make sure nothing is loose.

My spare got ripped off last year at a hotel in Corpus Christi. I went to a junkyard and bought a tire and rim for $35. 00

Lock the tire in place with a cable lock. Then lock the tail gate from comming off. They can steel that to!! I used a set of clamps on the hinge so it wont slide for fast removal.

Don't feel bad...

... they stole the spares out from under both my truck and the wife's truck at the same time I've scored some replacements from a fellow TDR member who I'm supposed to meet next month. I guess the theives have figured out the spare's real easy to get out with the little crank hoist. Oh well
