spare tire

whats the largest tire and wheel combo can you fit under the truck. Ill be running H2 wheels and 315/70/17. Just want to know what to do for a spare?

A 315 will fit. I did it on my previous truck ... it was tight but fit with no problems.

Related type question, will running a size different spare hurt the vehicle?



IE having 285s or 295s with a 265 spare. And if so how do cars with the mini spare not get damaged for the "50 mile @ 50 MPH" emergency use.

If you have a limited slip then running a spare in the back with hurt your set up if it's a different size... same goes if you are running in 4x4.

I did not buy a 5th 315/70R/17 for a spare yet. I was wondering if the stock spare rim that the BFG 265/70R/17 is mounted on is 8" or 7. 5". Does anyone know?



If I have a rear tire flat, it will be a big pain. I have to swap with front tire and then put spare on front. I am to old and lazy for that.

Not sure if it's 7. 5 inches or 8 but the bfg 315's will fit on a stock rim and snug up under your truck.

I also ran my spare 315 on the factory spare wheel.
