It's time for me to be rotating my tires - but can't use the steel wheel supplied with the truck on my spare - really could use a decent aluminum wheel that matches the rest on my '02 2500, so I can rotate ALL the tires including the spare - anyone out there help? I know I can hit up the salvage yards and such, but hoping maybe someone might have one sitting in their garage due to various circumstances they would let go reasonably...

Contact via private messaging, or Email - Thanks...

I'm with Gary, I need to rotate and was encountering the same problem. Maybe if someone has a set they'd be willing to break up if enough are interested (i. e. 4 people). I have an 02 with the aluminum wheels also.

I dunno as to what differences there might be between '01 and '02 - but here's a pic of my wheel:

I'm running 265/75/R16 tires on mine - get back to me if you think it might be the same wheel - Thanks...

I could use an extra set of 4 myslef. I would like to have two sets of tires and wheels so I can use less aggressive tires in the summer and switch them in the winter.

I've been thinking about replacing my factory aluminium wheels with steel wheels. I have 24K miles on the truck and three winters use on the wheels. They still look real good, some corrosion around the hub cap edge but you can't see it unless your real close, and it could be polished out and recoated.

My problem is finding steel wheels in the factory demensions. Then of course there's the cost of shipping. It should cost less then $50 to get these shipped to Seattle. If I can find a wheel that I'm happy with in the next couple weeks I'll let you guys know.

I am open for suggestions for a steel wheel that has the factory demensions. I could go to a custom builder depending on the cost.

mberry- there are a couple sets of the OE aluminum rims in the classifieds

Gary- I'd be interested in replacing my spare too. That's three of us. Anyone else?

I think they are the same?

Gary. . Since you started this thing, I will let my rims go. I don't want to get into sending 1-rim to 4 different people! The rims have the cover cap and lug nuts! They are in good shape and will let the set go for 200 coconuts, FOB Utah.

Steve

P. S. I have to look at them closer, however, I believe they are the same. If anybody is going to May Madness in Las Vegas in May , I can bring them down there.

Steve - assuming they WILL fit and match the stock wheels on my '02, I'll step up and take your complete set - I'd really appreciate info here from anyone who knows FOR SURE whether they WILL match the rest of my wheels - if we can get that outta the way quickly, I be glad to send you the price quoted immeditely, and then arrange transportation for the wheels, and subsequent dispersal of the ones I don't need to others looking for them - the guys up above getting first chance - Thanks!

Get me your address so I can send a check...

Wheels

Gary... Give me a couple of days to take a picture, and that will give you time to find out if they fit. . I'm almost 99. 9% they will. Don't sweat the coconuts, I had not intended to get rid of them, however, they are only taking up space in my garage. You got first chance. :D

Steve

Steve - I'll check with the local DC dealership first thing monday to compare part #'s for the wheels used on your year truck against mine - that should do it...

I hadn't really thought about May Madness - dunno much about what goes on, but might make it myself after I check into it - otherwise, I'm pretty sure a few of the locals are planning on going, so transportation shouldn't be a problem - and if any of the others up above are planning on going, they could get theirs on the spot - but *I* get "pick-of-the-litter"! :p ;) :D

My thanks to all involved above - private messages have been flying behind the scenes - and apologies to the moderator for this sorta getting outta hand and in the wrong forum - in any event, mission accomplished - and this IS a great group and forum! ;)

Any other contacts, private message, please...

I will no longer be receiving private messages thru this group - all those still interested in obtaining a spare aluminum wheel from the set I'm buying from Steve at May Madness in Las Vegas, please contact me via private Email at:

OEM alum's 01/02

01 and 02 alum 16x8 OEM are the same. The stealer out of Reno or Carson City wants 1500. 00 for a set of 4 rims, caps, and lugs. Can you believe that. Look just like the picture. I have a set of 4 and all for $400. 00 plus your ship cost. Dont want to deal in singles. They're 02's with less 1000 miles, There getting dusty and need the space. Terry.

TBarrett: I would respectfully request that you refrain from using the reference, stealer. Posting facts/details (as you have done above) is absolutely fine. If you have any questions regarding this request, please e-mail me at: rpatton@ix.netcom.com.

Thank you.
