Last week my right front speaker (standard 4-speaker system) went out. Other 3 continued to work fine, and I detemined the wiring to the speaker was fine. I plan to put 4 new Kenwood's in anyway, but anyone have ideas what happened?
I have the base system and I simply tried the new 6X9 Kenwood in place of the failed stock speaker. You're right Dane, I can tell the difference the Ken's make over stock with just one speaker connected. Can't wait to put the 5. 25" speakers in the rear along with a 10" sub (driven by Kenwood 150W amp) under the seat.
then what Dane said is probably correct. those base speakers don't cost Chrysler more than $5 apiece. what usually happens is the little tinsel lead which goes from the connector terminal to the voice coil will fatigue and break.
