the front door speakers in 2nd gens are 6x9 "oval" speakers. not hard to find. any local audio shop will be able to get you a reasonable pair for $75-100 (all speakers come in pairs). you can also go to any bestbuy/circuit city type store and they will have them as well. Crutchfield: LCD TV, Car Stereo, Home Theater, Speakers, Plasma TV is also a great resource for home and car audio. if nothing else you can do your research there and take that info/pricing to the local car audio shop.

you could also look on ebay, craigslist or the like to find a good deal on a used set. im not sure i'd be wild about buying a used set of speakers as you cant tell if the voice coil is blown until you hook it up and hear it (or not hear it).

I would stick with alpine, infinity, JBL, memphis (Memphis Car Audio - premium car audio and marine audio amplifiers, subwoofers, speakers and accessories) for speaker brands but if you arent too worried about sound quality/craftsmanship then go with whatever is in your budget.

Unless you have the "Premium Sound System. " If you have tweeters mounted in the A pillars chances are you do. In this system, the 6x9 door speakers are factory Infinity speakers with a "built on" amplifier. As previously mentioned, you can replace with any number of brands, however not sure if factory deck puts out enough watts to run them. You would want to look for one with a low RMS wattage requirement or might have to run an external amp.

surfbeetle, do your Pioneer speakers run off the Infinity radio deck? What are the Ohm settings on this deck? Thx!

I am putting alpine 6x9 type s in my front and make sure you check the depth because I have to use spacers and cut out the door panel In the back i put 6 1/2s in and it was easys just had to cut a little metal. My point is make sure the depth is right.

Sorry, never had the infinity deck. I had the base cassette player until I put an Alpine deck in. I don't know the Ohms.

As for the depth, it was a bit deeper than the originals, but the door panel was able to fit over it with no mods.
