I can't remember what size the speakers are in the front doors and behind the seat in the pillar for a 96 ram regular cab, can someone help me out? Oo.
Stock fronts are 6x9... . Most aftermarket 6x9's will not work b/c of depth issue... . rear on the club cabs are 5. 25 rounds... . not sure if regular cab is the same
I have replaced the entire Infinity system (which I know your truck doesn't have). There are several aftermarket 6x9s that will fit in the front doors without interference from the window mechanism. I would recommend finding one of these rather than downsizing to a 6 1/2 or 5 1/4 speaker like I did. The bass and over-all sound performance will be better. After purchasing a really good 5 1/4 componant system, during installation I tried my 6x9 Pioneers from another truck and they fit without interference. My 2002 has a plastic housing around the speaker which acts as a 1/4 inch spacer and would need to be kept to allow clearance. I hope this helps, 6x9s can fit.
6x9, but they need to be thin or you run in to depth/window interface problems. I bought some from Pyle, the thinline design. They fit, but they seem kinda bright.
