Exhaust parts

Big thanx to Jason Hughs @ HRC

I see the rear steering cab in photo 7, (note fixed axle next to trailer, end axle steering axle, and windscreen including wipers facing trailer) (elementary my dear Watson) as one sees on long Fire ladder trucks in this country. In Britain 1941-44 in a engineering and boiler plant we would have marine type boilers delivered, Diesel powered trucks, about 5 inch pipe straight up behind cab for exhaust, open pipe, no muffler, they would have rear steering cabs to assist negotating turns. Diamind T rings a bell, we had a flatbed Diamond T Reo Speed Wagon, (chrome and all) when the engine went out it was replaced with a Perkins Diesel. The cab bulkhead had depressed knock-outs, to allow right or left hand steering controls, it was a civilian truck.
