Speed Control Servo Cable

Can anyone tell me if there is any way to tighten up slack in the speed control servo cable? I was checkin' out the throttle cable the dealer replaced today and I noticed a whole lot of slack in the servo cable. I know the manual says there is no repair to the servo unit itself. So, does this mean I'll have to replace the whole unit? Also, what might be the effects of this loose cable?



One might think that the mechanic could've informed me of the loose cable. Thanks

46mech: My speed control cable has had slack in it since the truck was new. Do you know this to be a problem? My cruise control works just fine. If your's works OK, I wouldn't screw with it.

I only know that it hasn't always been this loose; unless, I'm observing the cable, now, when it is in a normal "loose" condition as opposed to any other time I've seen it.
