Ok, I'm kinda sick of 108mph here. . I KNOW with the new tires I should beable to run 111mph. yeah, not much more.

What is out there to eliminate this? what kinda top speed have you 3geners gotten to? tire/gear combos please as well.

all i know is 4:10s with 37" tires will out run 3:73s with 35s, same nv-5600 trans, dont know how fast i am going at top speed, speedo is not calibrated, and at 2100 rpm on the tach i am going just over 75 mph

My top speed is about 4½ MPH above the posted speed limit, but I can get there really fast...

OK, I'm an old fart, but I don't see a pickup truck as the right kind of a vehicle for high speed runs. Maybe a quick blast or two... :)

Oh, come on Les... you know that every once in a while, you wanna let her lose on 840!!! I've gotten mine to just over 90 with pedal left on her, but don't wanna push her more than that, she was sucking the diesel at that...

I defuel between 105-110... . and it's tacked at about 3k rpm... . I still have the stock 265's with 3. 73 ratio... .

The 04. 5 3rd gen defuels it self at 105, I can poke up to 108. I have 295's and in theory, before I corrected my speedo I would be at 111mph.

A local friend here had a downloader and it removed the speed limiter, he claims he's able to do about 120. What ever box he's running now fuels up there for him, to about 3500rpm. I need to find this data out if I can get a hold of the guy.

does anybody know how fast you are going with 37'' tires, 4:10s at 3300 rpm in 6th gear nv5600

Dang you beat me to it...

Yes if you follow the mathmatical recipe it should be 121mph. Since you have a . 73 6th gear. These caculators never seem to be true for many reasons.

1. Your tire isnt exactly 37" the way it sits on your truck.

2. Using the math a 35" tire will run 126mph using 3. 73 gear

3. You need to know the exact circumfrance of the tire, not the diamater.

4. That caculator said my truck would do 135+mph but only put down 122mph well into the redline using a GPS.

Just use a GPS to find out your true speed.

And for all of you nay-sayers stop giving us high speed guys I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER... . we have power to go fast and our trucks handle that speed just fine. Just make sure your rubber is up to the task. Ive gone 130mph in a CTD and it was smooth as glass.

EXACTLY! There are a few things you don't do with a CTD at that speed is make turns. But straight runs 150mph should be fine.

Some of us know our trucks to trust them.

If you want to go faster just turn your key to start while at 108. The speedo will die and you can go faster. Not that I've tried it though. :-laf
