Someone just mentioned I should save up $4,800 for an Auto trans for when mine goes! I almost had a heart attack! :) Is that for a full boat racing trany with the banks tourque convereter? Or just a stock rebuild? I was told you can have a stock trany rebuilt for about $1,200-$1,500. For $4,800 I'd rather convert over to a manual shift 6 speed, is that possible? What about the computer? I was told by the salesman I bought the truck from the trans. was rebuilt, but I have no proof. I drove an other Doge Ram CTD, and mine seems to shift a little firmer when you go faster, is it possible I have a shift kit or valve body in mine?

Phil:confused:

Someone must have been full of it (no offense, but 4800 is flat rediculous). You can BUY a full transmission from Suncoast for $3600, and the others are all similarly priced.

A 6-speed conversion is VERY costly and VERY time consuming. You pretty much will need a parts truck to get all the pieces for a decent price. And even then you wouldn't get out for less than 3600.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, that trany from suncoast is that like n improved trany w/shift kit and everything? Including tourque convereter? Is it more reliable and better performing than the stock Auto. transmission?

:D

Yes, that is a FULL transmission, TC, VB, and fully built Suncoast internals. Everything is built to their strict standards.

Yes, it is WAAAAAAAAAAY better than stock. Try 3-year/Unlimited Mileage/Unlimited HP style of better:cool:

The price is what Jeff Garmon sells the Suncoast trannies from his shop for, so I couldn't tell you about shipping. Then there are going to be the usual install charges from whoever you get to put it in.

And yes, it does support locked shifts. I know because I use it every pass made down the track. :D
