2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Speed related noise from front end

i was driving to work today and i kept hearing this noise, though i had the radio up, i thought nothing of it. Song changed, still noise. I rolled down my window and there was a squeek type noise from the L/F wheel, or axel. sound resembled a police siren in a way from the pitch hold up, pull over! so as i slow down to about 2mph i hear a click and the noise went away. didn't notice it the rest of the way to work. now i'm hoping that it was just a stone stuck in the brakes. i dont know, anyone hear this before, should i be concerned?

Wheel bearing will sound like that.

i dont believe thats it, there is no play in my steering, though my gearbox is leaking oil w/ steering wheel cut all the way. i havent heard it since then so im not too concerned about it anymore.

ok, its back, and getting worse, i think its mostly when its cold, someone please help here, i pulled thje wheel and found that my dust shield was rubbing, as i thought, so i fixed that, but sound didn't go away. i dont know what to do with this, it's so hard to pinpoint
