My red BRAKE light and yellow ABS light both are on. Diagnostics says that the rear wheel speed sensor is out. A friend who works on Dodges says that he has had no luck with parts house sensors and recommends the OEM part. I haven't called the local dealer for price and availability yet.

Anyone have a line on a good part at a fair price?

Thanks, Tom

About 45 dollars at the dealer. Does your speedo work?. A bad sensor usually will not let the speedo work till around 20 mph and give the lights. The sensor should ohm across the two terminals around 1800 give or take.

The 97 truck has the speedo in the tail housing of transmission or t-case. the rear sensor is only for ABS sensor. $45 dollars is a little high, I paid $36. 25 for mine.

I had some of the same problems: bad speedo, no cruise, abs and brake light on the dash. I bought a sensor from the dealer and replaced my old one. Didn't help. My problem ended up being bad wiring hookups to the sensor. I've got the thing "temporarily" wired, taped, and clamped up. It works for now with the OLD sensor in it. So I'd suggest checking your wiring and doing the ohm test first.

Replaced the speed sensor. Connectors were good. Dodge dealer charged me $62 for a part that never should have failed at all. All it does is set there and watch reluctor teeth go by! Good news is that it cleared both brake lights.

Thanks for the help, Tom
