2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Speedo goes way up, then fine

i let off the brake and hit the throttle a tad. all of a sudden my speedo went to 50mph and then back to 0. what happened

What did the RPM's do?? Does the truck still drive?? or did you shut it down and not drive it?? Do you know where the truck gets is spedo signal from??

well, i have the newer dash, but it's a 12v so isn't the speedometer like the older ones? no, the transmission didn't slip. i've run it for about 30 miles since, and nothing new. never had that happen... just weird.
