Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) KDP cracked my timing gear case!

I replaced transfer case and now have no speed-o... . I tried turning the connector with gear 180* and i tried to rotate the rubber plug on top but seems to only want to fit in 1 direction... am I doing something wrong or is it something else? thanks
