I'm running 35's on my '99. Obviously, my speedometer is way off. I know superlift sells a unit that compensates for oversized tires. They run about $200. 00 and I'm thinking about picking one up. Anyone recommend something different.

I have a Garmin GP45 GPS that i use for my speedo on the highway. For about the same money as you would spend on the compensating unit you can have a lot more info. Mine track-plots, gives speed and direction, etc. It's not permanent to the truck, however i carry it in the jon boat too.

I run 315/75-16 BFG's so the speedo is off about 12-15%.

For me it is a good option to the recalibration problem of oversize tires.

I have had the Tru-speed for about a year now and it has been very reliable. I understand the Abbott unit is similarly reliable. One caveat - remember you are installing this device into basically a digital signal line. This is not a job for the stereotypical 'kid in the u-haul lot'. Solder all connections or use weathertight, automotive-grade locking connectors. You might want to install a plug that would allow a 'bypass pigtail' in the event the unit seemed to fail so you could revert to stock.

Two sources of plugs: MSD distributes Deutsch connectors. Sure-Seal makes mini-seal connectors www.sureseal.com

Like gatoram, I also have the 315's and checked mine with a GPS and I am about 10. 5% off. My truck came with 265's.
