Doc, I can't help you with your question as I know nothing about the instrument cluster. I can welcome you to the TDR though. Good luck getting your truck fixed.

Welcome Doc, we're getting few Docs here now!!! If it was Hadda Dodge good luck, make sure you check your rig well for damage before you leave, they have a very bad reputation. You would have been better off to take your truck to Taft, maybe next time.

It's probably a little to late to tell you this,, But, you can do an instrument cluster diagnostics check your self. It's free, and amusing.

Do it like this. .

1. Make sure key is off.

2. Press the trip/odometer, trip-reset button down and hold it down.

3. Turn key on and contine to hold down trip reset button. Do NOT Start engine, just turn key to "ON"

Hold the trip reset button down for a few more seconds w/key on and the digital odometer readout should say "CHEC" then do a worm looking check in the odometer, the the computer will move ALL Gauges in cluster to Four different pre-set and calibrated positions positions.

When my Speedometer stopped working it was a Sensor on top of the rear differential, called the Rear Wheel Speed Sensor(RWSS)
It costs $40 and $200 Labor. It is very SIMPLE to replace this sensor your self.
Only hard part is getting the old sensor to actually come out of the rear-end.
