2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Speedy sleeve (wear ring) for front spindles

Time for the 50k front wheel bearings repack. After many millions of tire rotations the inner seals have worn the mating surfaces on the spindles. Is there a source for sleeves and seals that anyone knows about?

I suggest you go to a heavy duty truck dealer parts department that has a Chicago-Rawhide (CR) catalog. I doubt the catalog will have a listing for a Dodge truck; however, if you measure your spindle size with a micrometer they should be able to find a Speedi-Sleeve that will fit your spindle by looking under the generic applications. Speedi-Sleeves are commonly used on medium and heavy duty truck front axle spindles since they, like your truck, are driven for hundreds of thousands of miles.

Thanks Bill. I tried NAPA, and they can order speedi sleeves. I had measured the spindle (2. 172 inches, 5. 55 cm). Found out the price (over $50) and decided I could put up with a little seepage. If they start slinging grease, then I'll spend the $$$.

I remember when speedi sleeves were a very cheap way to get new life from used parts like harmonic balancers. What's the justification for $50?

I didn't ask if the $50 was for a pair or just for one. Compared to the price of a new spindle it is a cheap alternative. I'm too cheap to buy the cheap alternative, I just tapped the seals in a little farther. :-laf
