Spent $$$$ for more MPG?????

i don't get why people are so worried about mileage then go and buy automatics? but with my manual 16. 5-17mpg town and as much as 21. 0hwy. my friends auto is lucky to get 17hwy. and about 13 in town. lots of it has to do with the driver as we all know.

I'm getting about the same with my manual. Right around 17. The best I have had around town is 19 and that was driving like a little old lady. On the freeway @ 65 I'm getting about 20 to 21. Anything over 70 and it starts dropping fast. I have learned that if I want good mileage on the freeway I get in the right lane and set the cruise at 65. I make up for it at work during the week in my company gasser..... :-laf

P. S. the best speed for our trucks is 71. 4mph

No, it is actualy around 60 MPH and around 1650 RPM for best MPG.
