Spicer u-joint 5188X

Is this the direct replacement for our stock u-joints. It is hard to get a strait answer even looking through the "search mode".

When I did my joints a couple months ago, there was no direct replacement from Spicer.



However, the shop that replaced the ujoints in the rear dshaft used NeapCo joints and simply ground the retaining clips thinner... they were a Spicer equivalent. However close the Spicers are, they wouldn't work as a direct replacement.

Is their a close fit, I know its been done. Just too many part# keep popping up

i work at fleetpride in milford where we fix shafts and yes that will work i have them in stock they are greesable.

That's what went in my '03 's rear shaft.

One of the replacement u-joints that Mopar sells is a Spicer joint. I will be checking on it tomorrow to see if its the 6-speed or auto joint. The G56 trucks use another u-joint. I'm thinking its the same as the front axle joints.

the u-joint for the rear driveshaft for an auto is 5-801X. i just changed mine when i swapped my TC. No grinding. quality units.

When I had the joints replaced in my 04. 5... NO SPICER WOULD CROSS. They were close, but too long across the caps... same goes for the axle joints...
