The cheaper caps are not as deep (for a lack of words). I bought mine from Geno’s, I believe there several choices though.

Aftermarket is available with both grease and non-grease. I learned my lesson on the weaker grease-able with Jeeps.

Regardless, there is a difference in quality. Grease less joints rely on a quality seal. Take a look at either an AAM or a Spicer and compare to aftermarket.

I don’t care who says different, aftermarket joints don’t fit AAM driveline. It’s only a few thousandths too long in the caps or cross but it puts the joints in a bind and causes vibration.
A FEW???
Got my Moog joints yesterday (after chasing down where in the neighborhood FedEx sent them )
Distance between the ears of the axle is 3.7" (+/- .02), the minimum distance the moog joints will go is 3.8"!
A 1/10th of an inch! I used my woodworking clamp to squeeze the caps together thinking they might be over filled with grease.
Of course this isn't a dealer stocked part so I'll get them Saturday. Good new, Rock Auto has free return shipping.

Never doubt TDR!

My u joint experience is with 3rd gen driveline. On those the difference was small enough that grinding the caps on outside locks or grinding the locks themselves on inside locks would allow assembly but they were never perfect. I guess the larger axle joints on a 4th gen just add to the discrepancies. I’m sure I’ll learn soon enough.

I didn't have any issues with the U joints that I got from autozone for the Front end half shafts they fit and did not bind. What I had a huge issue with was finding U joints for the drive shaft. They are huge NO ONE stocks them. Not even the 4 dealers close to me. My aft one was binding. Took it apart ended up cleaning it, surprising No rust in it. repacked it with grease and so far it's been ok.

I got it, so he has to go to manual hubs to have 2 low ??. I read somewhere that the front driveshaft on post 2013 do not spin in 2 hi. ??

if its a full time 4x4 system then you need manual hubs to have 2lo. a cad system could have 2lo if you interupt the electric signal to the fork motor

on 2014+ only the axle shafts and spider gears are driven parts in 2hi. the right side inner shaft spins in reverse. something in the tcase engages and gets the gears and shafts up to speed and thus gets the right side inner shaft turning in forward direction so the cad fork can slide the collar over

1/2 way there... other side just needs the lock-out hubs installed. Those are a real PITA.

Glad I didn't hog out the hubcaps. The hubs would be recessed about an inch inside the hubcaps. Not good, a great way to catch dirt nd mud (snow if you have it). Guess I'll just have to go nekkid!

Be very careful when installing the big spring. Ensure it rests on the spacer that was provided, otherwise it can fall off the race and ruin the bearing... ask me how I know, and why Yukon now uses that spacer.

That issue aside, I really like those Yukon lockouts.

, Yikes thats a lot of stuff going on  , now is the driveline turning in 2 hi on the 2014

, Yikes thats a lot of stuff going on  ,

Not really.....all the stuff that is going on is merely just the result disconnecting inner passenger side shaft, from the outer passenger side shaft. It is still less than a system that leaves the shafts engaged. The spider gears are only spinning because the driver's side shaft is still rotating, which is connected to the spider gears obviously.....with no load mind you.

In theory, no, however, there's always some parasitic drag gets the ring gear turning slowly...which in turn can turn the shaft slowly.

i think there might be some confusion of words. everything is probly turning but the only driven parts is axle shafts and spider gears. ring gear, carrier, driveshaft and tcase might be turning as well , albeit at a much slower rate than the driven axle shafts. you could say they probly just get dragged along by fluid friction of the fast turning shafts and spider gears
