spin off of the band called golden earring

at work the other day me and the guys were talking about bands and the band golden earring came up. for some reason i am thinking the band started with this name and soon after changed it or a member left and started his own band any help here would be alot of help because it is driving nuts.

I know they were from Germany or Holland. Only two songs I ever heard from them were Radar Love and Twilight Zone.

Golden Earring were from Holland and started in the early '60s and continued with the same members. They lasted pretty long but never went onto anything else. They were very popular in Russia.

I heard the band could barely speak english when "Radar Love" was first released.

I saw them warm up for Rush at the Long Beach Arena in California back in... oh, I'd say about 1983 or '84.

If you want to hear a really cool re-make of "Radar Love", check out White Lion's 1989 cd titled "Big Game". I like their version better than Golden Earring's! My favorite on Big Game is the first song, titled "Goin' Home Tonight". Too bad White Lion wasn't very popular. Their lead guitarist did some awesome solos.
